Marie Kaae - House Dance Workshop & Lecture
In connection with the Stuessessions and MUD Sessions event “In My House WE”, we are proud and excited to announce that Marie Kaae will be teaching a House Dance workshop and giving a lecture afterwards. We encourage street and club dancers, especially House dancers, as well as artists from other dance disciplines not to miss the opportunity to learn from a well-versed movement artist.

The workshop will be centered around the Afro-American genre House Dance, and will include fundamental vocabulary in the genre as well as Marie's personal variations and signature style of movement. The workshop will include drilling steps across the floor, more challenging step-combinationsand a short routine to put the new information into play. The students are encouraged to be ready and warm-up before class starts.

The Lecture following the workshop will start with the subject of bridging the gap betweenrespecting tradition & technicality while also engaging in freestyle. The second part of the lecture will be a presentation of Marie's artistic life, practice andaspirations. The format includes Q&A in order to meet any specific interests of theparticipants.
